Puppies

We haven't had a puppy of our own for years and years. We have had dogs, my kids dogs, the ones they promise to care for, after we diligently explain the responsibility of pet ownership, the ones they drop, and we of course feel guilty so we take care of. Now, we have a puppy of our own. Her name is Maggie. She is a little, no not little, a rather large puppy, a mastiff mix we think. We rescued her. She is alot like having children...completely dependent on us. She whines and we come running. She misbehaves and we discipline her. She needs to go potty, or needs food, and we supply. She is so cute...even if she gets us up and weird hours because she just can't hold it anymore! She is definitely going to be our baby. Not just mine, but Steve's too. He loves her although he won't admit it, not yet anyway! I can't wait to watch her grow!

New Year's Resolutions

How quickly those come and go...I was looking back through old journals to get a picture of where I have been and where I am going, and decided my life has been more in a circular path. I don't know that I am getting where I want to go, but sure using up a lot of energy going no where! Today was a day that I felt inadequate. I am surrounded by people much smarter than I am trying to teach concepts I am not always solid on myself. How do I teach what I don't know? How do I make a difference? How do I balance my life to accomplish the impossible? I am still trying to figure out what to do with my life! I am still trying to keep one new year's resolution...the "I am going to read every day and write everyday."
